The driving licence category C entitles you to drive following vehicles:

• - truck;
• - Self-propelled machine with a maximum authorised mass over 12 000 kg (m.m.a.);
• - Trailer with a maximum authorised mass of 750 kg (m.m.a.);

The minimum age for applying to a driving school for this driving licence is:

- 18 years & be a holder of the driving licence of the B category.

Documents required for the application for a driving licence of the category B:

• - A medical certificate (less than 3 months old);
• - A recent passport photograph (taken from the front) in 45 × 35 mm format;
• - A copy of your valid ID card/passport;
• - A photocopy of the driving licence;
• - A criminal record from the country you are coming from
  (only necessary if you live in Luxemburg since less than 5 years
  and if you were major that moment).

The number of theory lessons required to be taken at a driving school :

• - At least 10 one-hour lessons
  (6 hours of code + 4 hours of mechanic);

If holder of the driving licence of the C1 or D category,
the number of theory lessons required to be taken at a driving school is:

• - At least 6 one-hour lessons
  (6 hours of code);

If you fail the theory test, you must repeat half the mandatory theory hours, before retaking it.

The minimum number of practical lessons required to be taken at a driving school:

• - 14 one-hour lessons;

If you fail the practical test, you must take at least 7 one-hour practical lessons.

If holder of the driving licence of the C1 or D category,
the number of the practical lessons is:

• - 10 one-hour practical lessons;

If you fail the practical test, you must take at least 5 one-hour practical lessons.
